Halo Effect is a high energy Classic Rock cover Band. Four individuals with a passion for music that goes back as far as we can remember. We bring that passion to the stage every time we play , while continually adding new material.

Jim Loutzenhiser Lead Vocals
Jim has been in several local Bands around San Diego, Rocket Surgery, and Breezin to name a couple. Jim brings his incredible vocal talents, and stage presence to lead this high energy Classic Rock Band.
Gavin O Hara Lead Guitar, backing Vocals
Gavin has been in the San Diego music scene for over 30 years. He brings his articulate talent to this Band, with never ending Guitar knowledge always ready to shred some tasty leads.
John Flood Drums
John has a wide range of influences including Frank Zappa, Peter Gabriel, Gary Burton, Charlie Shoemake, Milt Jackson, and Fela Kuti. San Diego based Percussionist John has spent many years in a multitude of projects, programs, and performances. He has collaborated with various dance companies, and choreographers, has performed in theatrical productions, and has traveled, and played with traditional drummers in Ghana, West Africa. One of Johns highlights was when he performed as the featured soloist with the San Diego Symphony under the direction of Jung Ho Pak in David Ward-Steinman's "Millennium Dances". John has a Master of Arts degree in Music Performance from the University of Ca, San Diego. He was also the director of Percussion, and African Ensembles, as well as a lecturer in various courses at SDSU. Currently John is busy working on original vibraphone compositions based on world music experiences. He is a freelance percussionist, vibraphonist, and playing with Halo Effect.
Mike Harper Bass Guitar, backing vocals.
Mike has been in the local music scene for around 7 years. Mike has a passion for listening, and playing live music. Influences are Getty Lee, Dennis Dunaway, Billy Sheehan, and more. Mike loves to perform, and brings his energy to the stage every time.
