Information

Road Kill Kings were formed eight years ago, their crowd- and beer-friendly shows sizzle and smoke like a Robert Earl Keen barbecue/jamfest.

The Road Kill Kings were formed out of a mutual love of traditional country, rockabilly, and bluegrass music with a dash of rock n' roll thrown in for drinkability. R.K.K. infuses traditional bluegrass and country into a potently contagious style of roadhouse music that is sure to win over any crowed young and old with there mixture of Rollin' In My Sweet Baby's Arms, Folsom Prison Blues and and R.K.K.'s own I'm Gonna Get Drunk Tonight. Road Kill Kings has played in support of Hank Williams III, Junior Brown, The Knitters, Wayne"The Train" Hancock, The Radiators, Robert Earl Keen and Big Sandy. Darren Ellis is a local singer/song writer that has been performing in the Southern California area for the past 25 years in several incarnations. He is the founding member of the James Theroux Band who has been nominated several times by the Orange County Music Awards and has played every Juke joint from San Diego to Santa Barbera. Randy Cochran, on up right bass, has also made a name for himself in the Southern California music scene with his solid bass playing, song writing and vocal performances. Gary Riley is a multi-instrumentalist who has immersed himself in the guitar stylings of James Burton, Chet Atkins, and Luther Perkins. He has made a name for himself as one of the most talented lead guitarist in the alt. country music scene. Mike Stave, fiddle, is no stranger to traditional American music. He was raised on bluegrass music and has won several fiddle competitions. Mike's fiddle playing is much in demand and he records with several other local artist. Rick Kavin, drums, is a solid drummer with a bad additude. Rick has performed in the Southern California music scene as long as dirt and continues to do so against the advice of his doctor. Darren, Rick and Randy started out playing in the 80's Punk scene and they bring that same energy to what they play today, so if you enjoy up-tempo, kick you in the seat of your pants music then you will love the Road Kill Kings.
