Description

Nice to Meat You

Bourbon Street was conceived by Lawrence Houser, John Skehan and Holly Hana. All Fullerton locals who had a love for New Orleans. Lawrence and John both working in popular Fullerton restaurants joined forces. John and Larry wanted a place that exemplified FUN! with the amazing flavors of New Orleans.

They also wanted to be a place that the community loved. There are not many non profit events around Fullerton that Bourbon Street is not a part of.

About a year into the Bourbon Street journey Lawrence and Holly get news from their doctor that their son has autism. John recommends changing our normal FAT TUESDAY celebration into a child’s event dedicated to autism awareness and inclusion. They named it Mardi Gras for Autism. That is held the first Saturday of April every year. This event attracts over 5000 people annually and is considered one of the premier autism and special needs events in all of California.
Bourbon Street also works with the Fullerton Joint Union High School District and hosts Job training for special needs young adults 5 days a week.

When you eat at Bourbon Street not only will you be having some of the finest New Orleans fusion food around but you will also be supporting a restaurant that gives back to their community.
