A Family Legacy
Like many other veterans returning from World War II, Jack Holder sought to find his place in a rapidly changing America. In 1957, Jack and Anne Holder moved to California and opened their first breakfast restaurant, Uncle John’s Pancake House.
In 1967, they opened the original Holder’s Country Inn at the old Town & Country Village in San Jose, California, where it flourished for 32 years. Jack and Anne, and their children opened several more restaurants throughout the Bay Area.
While managing their restaurants, the couple reared a family of a daughter and six sons, all of whom were raised in the business.
Jack and Anne Holder passed in 1996 and 2018.
Jack’s Woodside Grille is one-hundred percent family-owned and operated. At Jack’s Woodside Grille, the Jack Holder family traditions of friendly and attentive service combined with quality food continues.
